What got you into moto?
My mother says I've always chosen bikes over Barbies. I was told from a young age that girls don't ride motocycles. One of my uncles bought a CR50, CR70, and XR100 for his kids, but I was the main person who rode his bikes! He gifted me the XR100 when I graduated high school. During university, I finally bought my own RM125 and was able to register for races without parental consent. Now, I actively race on my KX250F.
What do you enjoy most about moto?
Wow - this is tough! It's hard to choose my favourite. I would have to say it's the community. Some of my closest friends have been from motocross. The love and support that you get from this community is amazing. I have friends all over the globe!
What is the craziest thing you have seen or has happened to you riding/racing?
Don't know if I should admit this, but I peed my pants in 2012 when I wrecked. I had a concussion and when I woke up, the EMT let me know that I had "wet my pants". How embarrassing!!!!! Now it's a ritual that I pee before every moto, haha!
What inspires/motivates you?
Continually improving is what motivates me. Seeing others ride faster and smoother than me inspires me to keep pushing and working to be the best version of myself, on and off the track. I know I'll always be working hard to be better than I was yesterday!
What advice would you give other girls in moto?
We ALL started somewhere. It doesn't matter your age, wealth, gender, race, etc. You can do this. Just because there isn't someone who looks just like you or speaks your language, etc. doesn't mean that you don't belong in motocross. You do belong. We all belong in this moto family! I attended Camp M2M 2019 and I recommend ANY girl who thinks dirt bikes are cool to register for Camp M2M 2020!! See you there!
What is one thing people would find interesting about you?
I'm vegan! Which means, I don't eat any animal byproducts (other than honey - personal choice). I went vegan in 2017 and I'm happy to say that it has significantly reduced my arm pump, helped me lose weight, and given me confidence to try new things because you never know how it will change your life!
